Malcom walked up to me in the gym the other night and asked point blank: "So what's up with the beer? When are we getting together?" My answer was "Well, I dunno." Micah said: "You are the instigator, so post something." And now here we are. We are ringing in the newyear upstairs at the Dark Horse at 7PM on Thursday 1/28/09. Sharp End and Fixed Pin have given me a few cases of all of the Colorado Guidebooks that they publish at a pretty good promotional price that I'll have them for at the event, including the books to Table Mountain, the Flatirons, Eldorado Canyon, the South Saint Vrain, Clear Creek Canyon, Indian Creek, the Gunnison Area, and a few more. Bring cash, or be ready to make a check out to the Publisher (not to me, I am just a currier). People have also been pretty successful at trading/selling/swapping unwanted climbing gear at the nights there, so bring on the wrong-sized-shoes and extra belay devices that your well-intended parents gave you for Christmas before they realized that nobody but REI will take returns on climbing gear... Roll Call...

If it gets over-subscribed/too crowded, we'll have to sterilize people.

aaugh! Pat Ament just posted this on Facebook: "Hope to let people know of my show in Boulder, at Neptune Mountaineering, Thursday the 28th of January, at 7pm. I'll show my new film "The Disciples of Gill" and hopefully have another little surprise. Hope to see all my friends there..." I'd like to see that...

Yeah Shawn, I heard about that show and want to check it out. We can always drink beer after the Neptunes show.

Can we bring the beer to the Neptune show and just have it there? Drunks can stumble over to the Sun to get more drunk after? Yeah!

#3. Actually I'd really like to see the film, but just can't spend the $10 on it right now. I still want to grab some beer and climber chat though, and I've already reserved some moneys for a guidebook I've been wanting. Cheers JC PS: Tony, I think your #3 option has a typo. I assume that you meant 1/28 and aren't talking about planning a beernight nearly a year in the future! ;)

Because I like beer #2 works for me but I'm pretty flexible.
