Any iPhone users out there with recommendations on killer apps for climbing? Again, climbing specific.

Not necessarily just for Iphone, but I really like the notifications from climbingweather.com when I'm out on a road trip.

There's a great one that is an international grade conversion chart. And there's a fun jump game called RockClimber.

Accuweather.com is probably the one I refer to the most when I'm on a road trip, though.

None of these are climbing specific, but great for outdoors outings in general.

The Weather Channel app, for obvious reasons. Nice to be able to see radar to see if weather is moving in.

Motion X has two AWESOME GPS apps. GPS is a great trail-running/mountain biking/hiking app. I used it to find the exit from the Trap Dike onto the upper slabs on Mt. Colden this past summer. GPS Drive is a cheap way to get full voice navigation on your iPhone, and works as well as my wife's $350 Garmin.

Yelp- for finding the nearest pub after cragging.

there was a cool peak identifier app they were talking about on another site. Unfortunately you have to have the 3gs

peaks.augmented-outdoors.com/

I also like:
NPR freak? I think it's called. Listen to programs from all public radio stations

slacker radio-streaming radio w programmable stations

weber grill-recipes for grilling

Iremote-turns your iPhone into a remote so you can control a docked iPod or computer. Controls iTunes, movies, iPods. Have to have the dock w the infared sensor on the front.

Best climbing app is: RockClimber. You use the accelerometer to move back and forth as you climb the rungs and collect ice axes, ropes, boots, etc. This thing is addictive!

Whoops missed the climbing specific criteria. Sorry.

A Rock and Road app would be great, if you’re having trouble deciding on where to climb you could shake the phone like the restaurant app thingy and it would randomly pick a crag for you. It would be even better if you could do that with routes too but that would be a lot of data entry I would think.

I might misunderstand you’re question, are you looking for apps that exist or are you looking for ideas for apps to create? If you’re looking for apps that exist I got nothing.

Has anyone heard of an inclinometer app?

There are a couple that wotk pretty well. One is just called inclinometer (go figure). Mammut has one as well that is supposed to have an altimeter in meters, but the altimeter is only available in Europe (???). Both are free. There is this odd thing at the app store called search... ;-)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
