Going down...to Sin City

Long range weather forecast seems unattainable, but I'm itchy to pull the trigger on a trip to Red Rocks for Jan. 10 - 13, departing Sunday afternoon and returning Wednesday eve. I've spent numerous nights at the 13 mile campground, but with a number of $25 a night rooms around town, I'm thinking about going "soft-man" style this time. Prefer to drive my Yukon XL and enjoy moderate multi-pitch trad...Birdland, Johnny Vegas, etc.

Update 12/30/2009: Booked a room with double beds at the Tuscany tuscanylasvegas.com/ for Sunday through Tuesday night. NOAA 8-14 day forecast for above normal temps and below average chance for precip.

Thanks for the "heads up" Brian. I hate those hidden costs when it comes to travel...hotels, rental cars, and buying new tires.

Haven't got a nibble yet on my partner search, but I've been very fortunate over the years in making the occasional internet acquaintance when a trip depended on it.

Weather permitting (and that means no snow up here and dry down there), i'd be happy to meet you down there.

I knew I should have posed as a twenty-something female in order to obtain a selection of partners to choose from. Tico, if you've "got your ears on", sorry I haven't responded sooner to your offer. I may still try to contact you, but I've been e-mailing past partners in an attempt to lure them to Vegas, but so far without success.

For MP users that may still reply, I'm willing to offer the second bed in my room as incentive, though I'd appreciate recouping the hidden resort fee of $10 per night that SLC Brian so knowingly warned of.
