The use of a static material, as the main connection to the anchor, suggest that perhaps you are incorrect.

By 'static' material, do you mean an item with a stiffness of infinity?

Yarp. Static anchor material works just fine.... I have a pretty good feeling that the guy knows what he is doing more than most of us do.

To be perfectly honest. neither Kurt or I clip into the anchor with a sling anymore. It really is more convenient to just clove into the anchor. This was our first trad climb together: a great start to a great friendship.
