I feel pretty comfortable saying the ice season has truly started, and the foreseeable weather looks to only improve conditions. Anyone else been getting out?! All I can think of right now is that low thwack of steel in plastic!
Smugglers' Notch is getting fatter by the hour! Lake WIlloughby, from what I've heard, is in, and the Adirondacks have been fattening up, as well. A couple more freeze/thaw episodes, and New England ice will be in tip top shape!
Excellent TR conditions as of last Tues/Wed. at Pitchoff R & Quarry. The Waterfall Wall on Crane is soloable as of Monday; probably will take screws now. Hoping to get out this afternoon (Sunday), after doing honey-do's the past four days...

Climbs in the Cascade pass (ADKS) were leadable yesterday (saturday) albeit a bit thin in spots. Its was a packed house with people on everything except the most obscure lines. Everything was wet and still building. Looks like it may be a good season as long as we don't get a warm spell.
Spier Falls is thin but in, several sparsely leadable lines. Quite a crowd there this afternoon; seven or eight ice-whackers looking por nub. Fun time was had by all.
