So who's done it or is into it?
I've got a friend who climbs who is into setting up zip lines, he likes the idea of doing big swings and I'm sure rope jumps if we can find a good place to set one up.

He told me of this zip line he set up over clear creek a little while back and sent me a video of it:

It sounded like fun and I found I had some free time this Sunday with nothing to do. I would have normaly gone climbing but it was a bit nasty out and I really need to get my shoes re-soled before I get to the rand. I decided to call my friend up to try to get the zip line set up and he was game.

We arrived to a bit of rain but after a 30 min. wait we were back to partly cloudy. We decided to go for it so we went and set up as quick as we could as it was already around 4. While setting up a large group of my friends showed up. We had 10 different people jump, upto/ over 200 lbs. It was a blast. We had another jump we wanted to do but it was dark when everyone had gotten 1 jump in. We had it mostly pre rigged before it was dark so all we had to do is re-direct the pull of the rope through another anchor. We did the other jump in the dark, and it has a bigger free fall then the first. This was my first time but the talk of a 30-45' free fall before being caught sounded like a blast. So we did it and it was great.

Enjoy the pics:

you can see the bigger point in one of the pictures where people are sitting out on the point we jumped off at night.

Also guided rap's are fun too:

I think he's referring to the 30 pounds of shinning metal on your belt holding your pants up ;)

Yo Jason, Great Pics, It looks awesome.

Let me know if you guys are heading back out, I'd be stoked to tag along and get some swings in. I've been wanting to do the big swing up at Fremont for a couple years. A few smaller swings around here would be great fun.

Keep me in the loop,
Jason

I just filmed these yesterday on Mt. Lemmon. After lowering from a very steep sport route that starts on a ledge about 80 feet up, you can climb up to the second or third bolt...and let go! Not as big or bold as other swings or jumps, but a ton of fun.

The air is not nearly so big as these others, but we are using a natural arch for a rope swing . . . that's gotta be worth a couple of style points.

Not your average rope swing.

Nice post Jason. Seems you're always out there gettin' it done!

Steve showed me a pic of you on a tall, skinny mud tower (I think it was you) with the capstone. Super! most inspiring pick I've seen in ages! I was showing my friends that and going "how cool is this?" before I even met you.

Finnsome, that was great! Not as tall as Dan, but same principle, and looked just as much fun. Do you prussick back up? Was that the authorities kicking you out at the end?
I don't think I could get myself to do these, so thanks for posting videos and pictures!

Finnsome, that was awesome! Now I know why I'm learning to speak German: so I can go jump off of bridges in Germany! Ich möchte dieses tun! :)
