Always remember the #1 most important risk assessment rule in the world:

If you can't hear ominous music, you're perfectly safe!!

I chose to see this in the theaters. The whole crowd was silent and serious, and I couldn't help but break out laughing when the old man hit the ground. They must of thought I was a calous a hole.

This isn't even the most hilarious use of a cam in that particular cinematic masterpiece. See if you can find the scene where a climber (in a sweet snow suit) dynos off a ledge and slams in a cam, hangs on, then does some other completely nonsensical stuff. Good, good times.

EDIT: Sweet! It's already in there.

Oh thats GOOD! I remember sitting in the theater thinking "This is the best comedy I've shelled out for in a while!"

Classic.

Gotta go and practice the dynamic cam placement right now!

All it needed was a section on the proper use of a bolt gun!

What’s funny to me about this video is a girl I almost dated (and thank god it ended before it started) absolutely insisted that the movie was accurate and that the opening scene was choreographed by real climbers so it would be as realistic as possible. Sadly we watched the scene on DVD multiple times in slow-motion and I picked it apart for her, but she was still convinced it was true to real life.

I like the scene when he jumps a 300 foot void and smashes his two ice axes into the cliff and sticks it. Now I have only ice climbed once in my life. What would happen? Would he bounce of the wall? or would his ice axes stick and his arms would detach?

p.s.--I am not being very serious

If someone were foolish enough to attempt such a jump, (s)he would not get much farther than 10 feet from the near-side wall.

Great video, BTW. I had heard stories about the movie, but it's really hilarious beyond my wildest expectations. I particularly like the axe belay that the girl sets up before venturing on that collapsing cornice. What happens after the kid jumps? Do they set up a Tyrolean?

Holy Shee-it! And all this time I've been wasting asking questions in these forums- and every answer I ever needed was right there! Thanks AC!
