so, how did chris bonnington end up on this relatively obscure climbing route? seems like there has to be a story here.

The climbs are not that obscure. There are about 250 routes on these crags and they are just of a major interstate namely I.70 near Green River. They are adventure climbs... the FA's done ground up on sight . Chris preferes this type of adventure climbing. He has climbed a couple of times on here over the last few years. We first climbed together in the Alps in 1958. This area is not popular with todays youth as it has run out pitches and many of the climbs can not be overcome with brut strenth or shouting take .....if you know what I mean !! the climbs look great, I plan to hit that area the next time I'm in Utah. I just wouldn't expect to see chris bonnington there. then again, I can't think of any place in the US that I would expect to see him:)

now if you want to shoot me a PM the next time he's in town, that might change.

I don't think i'll be able to make it to the UK this week so give him my best. unfortunately I wouldn't be able to make it to Utah either. if you guys ever climb in north Carolina I'd be glad to show you around.
