Molly and Kelso were lost on 9/7/09 around 1:30pm while we were climbing at Upper Dream Canyon. Molly is 4 and Kelso is 2 they look very similar both with brown heads and white bodies with brown tick marks. We miss them so much! Please contact us if you see them.

Two german shorthairs were running around the parking lot for The Sport Park on Monday as I was leaving around 3. They both came up to me and appeared to be perfectly healthy. I assumed they were the dogs of a couple that had just arrived.

But, as the dogs wandered across the road it was obvious they didn't belong to that couple. They slowed traffic and attempted to get the dogs to come to them down along the creek.

As I pulled out the dogs were no longer on the roadside. I assume the couple was able to get them to come and, hopefully, there's a couple out there looking for you so they can return the dogs to their home.

I know that's not much help in finding them but thought you'd like to know that they were seen, in good health, and may have been picked up by someone.

Check the Humane Society or Animal Control in Boulder and Nederland. That's where they would turn up if they were picked up. Best of luck finding them!

Sorry for violating rule #1 but I don't feel sorry for you, I feel sorry for your dogs. As much as I love dogs this scenario is becoming all too common.

Good luck, I hope you get them back before nature, a cdot truck or a stoned hippie in a VW from nederland gets them first.

Give the guy a break. I'm sure he's not giving himself one. I hope you find them soon.

Mike and Clare,

Here's a bump up to help find your dogs. I understand things happen and hope they make it home safe and sound.

Being a dog lover, I am pleased that you found your dogs. Did you learn anything, or will we all have to worry about them again? Just wondering. Don't forget that they are family!

Plenty of good lessons learned and faith tested, but more than anything very happy to have them home and enjoy their company.

SUPER glad you found your dogs! We were also at the sport park and did try and wrangle them in after noticing that they were unattended but they wouldn't come over to us. Possibly scared from all the highway hustle and bustle. BIG thanks to all who do slow down when they see someone or something on or around the road. We asked everyone we saw at the sport park but no one had their dogs with them. Again, Congrats!!

Nice to hear they are back home.

Focusing on the positive side of this story, how were they found and returned?

A hiker who lives off of Magnolia Rd. and his dogs were out before going to work and his dog began to act unusual. When the great guy who found our boy walked toward his own dog he saw Kelso asleep under a pine tree. Later in the day, very nearby my wife and the man's wife were out and about to come in when they saw some white movement and of all amazing things it was our girl. Thanks again for all the positive thoughts and words and help from this wonderful couple.
