Easily amused in the desert. Maybe it was the heat, because I couldn't stop giggling when a chunk of chicken tamale fell onto our topo map; it looked just like a mountain, I swear!<br>

8/28/09 at the Narrows.

A nap in the shade on a ledge was our reward after hiking to the base of Angel Food Wall in direct sunlight on a hot summer day. I don't think it's a good idea to take a nap before climbing; it was hard for me to want to get up, but we did, and managed the climb. Fun times!<br>

Hmmm... I'm not sure what he's doing in this pic; possibly thirsty after running, and somersaulting down the sand dune on a hot fiery day, or maybe looking for the rare Mojave Fringe-toed Lizard I told him about. He surely can't be hiding from me, trying to disguise himself as a creosote bush. Ah, the mysteries of the desert. <br>

Jonny rapping from Chuckawalla 21 in Mud Springs, Red Rock. It's a longish approach to get to C-21. We were the only ones deep in the canyon that day, which isn't too uncommon in these parts. Fun climb!

A fun, mellow climb to get my mojo back. These 108 degree days got me all excited to get back on the rock- really. I can't explain it. <br>
