Looks really nice Steve, thanks for all the effort in locating the 'lost' lines and in getting the history put together.

Any guide book that has a picture of someone climbing in bright green spandex and pink draws is going to be great! Nice job.

I really enjoy guide books that not only show the routes in fine detail, but add on that touch of antiquity and nostalgia through historic recaption of the area. So far it looks pretty sick.

Definitely excited, but does anyone else feel like Sharp End books are overpriced?
By Jeff Welch From: Thornton, CO Jul 4, 2009
They are not cheap, but I'm guessing that printing a durable book in full color in relatively small quantities is expensive enough that they are not exactly getting rich off these books.

Try writing one. You would want to charge $100+ so you could net about 50 cents per hour for your time. Great job Steve - I look forward to picking up a copy.

Anyone know when this is coming out?

Stoked! They aren't cheap in price or quality, but I have paid a few dollars less for books that were worth about 1/4 as much. I have been amazed at the poor quality of many guidebooks around the country, while SharpEnd's usually make my climbing experiences more successful, and more enlightened.

Excellent work...Steve's commitment to climb the routes in the book and not just publish other discriptions from 25 yrs ago is a fresh approach. In the pack or on the coffee table... Cheers to a timeless classic!! Patrick

Oh what!?! So now I won't get to use the Falcon guide which has half of the "photo route maps" picturing a white line through a huge (and otherwise blank) black shadow? (Stoked. Thanks a ton for the effort that obviously went into it!)

"Anyone know when this is coming out?" The 'rumor' has it that you should look for it on Celebrate Eldorado day, which I think is in September.
By Richard Radcliffe From: Louisville, CO Jul 5, 2009
Thanks Steve. The guide looks so gorgeous, I don't think it'll ever leave my coffee table for fear of tattering it....

Nice work. When can we pre-order?
By Aaron Martinuzzi Jul 8, 2009
i bought the flatirons book today and have liked it a lot for the two climbs i used it for. i think the previous comment was the poor ex-grad-student part of me pissing and moaning. i can definitely appreciate a nice guidebook - paid $40 for the Handren Red Rocks guide.

Steve is an inspirational climber -- thanks for your contribution. Sharing your passion for the Eldorado climbing experience preserves the legacy and history of one of the greatest climbing arenas in Colorado.

I don't want to argue what it should cost, but the last comment fails the giggle test. Books like this one cost a lot more than a dollar to to ship from the press to the publisher or publisher to the stores, etc....

Any updates on when this is coming out?
