Anyone go up to the Petit, Notchtop or Hallett's over the last weekend? I am curious as the to amount of snow on the approach hikes.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

as of sunday, there is some snow on the approach to the Petit, but you can easily make it in hiking boots.

Thanks colin for the info, did you take the "fire trail" shortcut? Did you enjoy the Petit? Amazing summit!

I think in general there is more than the usual amount of snow on most of the aproaches but not so much as to warrent BIG boots or snowshoes .

The approaches into Glacier Gorge, Spearhead, the Petit, Hallett's etc
all have large patches of snow but generally light weight boots or sturdy running shoes suffice for approaches. It's wet coming out in the afternoons but the early approaches are dry just "slippery".

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
