Steamboat Springs Beta.

I'm headed up to Steamboat for a few days and am looking to do some craggin'. I checked the database here and it wasn't to extensive. I was just wondering what MP users might suggest. |
|
Does anyone know how to contact either Melanie Breslaw, Gregory Dennis, Micheal Covington or anyone from Saurian Detours or anyone that helped put up first accents in SS? I'd like to speak with any of these folks to get permission to post some info on Steamboat Springs climbing on this site. |

I am pretty sure the Ski Haus in Steamboat has some information about local climbs. I seem to remeber a notebook with some hand drawn topos and directions in the store. I bet they would be able to point you in the right direction when you head up there. |
|
Backdoor sports usually has some info around. They're downtown at 9th and yampa. Ski Haus also has a folder and usually has the old little guidebook for sale. The newer sport cragging stuff isn't in that guide book though. |
|
You can also check out Backdoor Sports. They used to have a notebook similar to the one Kirk just referred to. I lived in Steamboat for a short while and found the climbing options limited. However, there was a bolted crag north of Steamboat on Seedhouse Rd that was decent. |

Isn't there info on this site? Covington is in Telluride. |

steamboat has some ok climbing, there is seedhouse rd. , butcher knife in downtown you can boulder up on the west side of rabbit ears pass or you can hike out to the domes on top of the pass. nothing is that great that it is a must do but if your up that way drop in to backdoor sports and have a chat with pete he will put you in the right direction. |
