Adirondack Photos Needed!

Hey all! I'm in dire need of some fresh climbing photos for the Adirondacks section of MP.com. So if anyone has any old or new photos of routes that exist on this database, please post them. I am really bad at remembering my camera each and every weekend I venture out, and when I do, it's usually just my wife and me, which makes taking pictures other than ground-up shots extreme difficult. Thanks in advance!!

Any particular area? I've got a few shots of the Barkeaters and a few of Poko. I can't tell if you're looking for topo type photos or just nice pictures of different routes? I've gotta go out and lead a climbing trip but I'll try to add them when I get home.

Just added one, not the greatest, but for Slim Pickens at the Spider Web. Can add one more for Mr.Rogers. I have some high quality pictures for Frosted Mug over at the Beer Walls which I thought to be a very high quality route, but it has no entry. I'd make one but I've only visited the area once and have little knowledge of it, so i figure I'll let a local through up that addition.

Awesome! I would prefer pics of climbers in action, though I'm not going to turn away topos. Re: Frosted Mug--I don't know why I haven't added this route earlier, as I've done it quite a few times. I'll add it, if you want to add the pics.

Thanks again!

I plan on climbing in the High Peaks in a couple weeks. I'll trade some pics for some good advice on Gothic/ Big Slide and Trap Dyke. What do you say?

Will--

I haven't climbed out at Big Slide or Gothics yet, so I can't help you there. However, Avalanche Pass (Trap Dike) is a different story. The hike out is 4.5 miles, but over easy terrain--the final mile being the hardest. Plan on about 2 hours to get out there. Once at the Pass, head along the right bank of the lake, skirting the bouldery shore, until eventually you at the far end. You can see the Trap Dike route on the opposite side of the lake as you hike around the lake. It is the 2nd large dike intrusion from the left. Once around at the base of the dike head straight up the thing. Not a whole lot of route finding is necessary, though you don't want to exit too soon onto the slab (that will land you in 5th class territory!).

Make sure you check the weather, and make sure it's been dry for at least a week prior to your trip, otherwise you'll run into a waterfall on the Dike Route (not fun!). approach shoes do the job fine, though bringing a pair of climbing shoes is recommended if you don't feel 100% comfortable with exposed 3rd/4th class. No need for a rack or a rope either, if you are comfortable.

Enjoy this route. It is quite mellow with unbeatable views.
