Just moved back here from colorado, don't really have many climbing contacts in this area and really need to get out and climb. I climb up to 12 sport and need to get back into trad but could probably do low tens until i'm comfortable again. I don't currently have a vehicle so that would be something to consider. i'm also willing to just boulder right now, I just really need to get out and climb and would love to meet some cool people while i'm at it. My name is Alix (23/m). Email is akreder@meca.edu or call at 207-745-5185.

Hey Alix,
I will be living in central Maine this summer from the end of May through Mid August and would love to get out climbing. I will be in Wiscasset teaching sailing and leading some short wilderness trips for kids and will have at least a day a week off to climb, hopefully more. Get in touch with me in a month of so when I get up there. Would love to hit up Shagg Crag, Acadia, Camden Cliffs, some alpine stuff on Katahdin, ect...
Peace,
Phil.

I won't be in the area, but make sure you hit up Eagle Bluff in Clifton, ME, outside Bangor.

I'm actually from Maine. I lived in Bangor and Presque Isle for sometime, then moved to Colorado to be with my wife. Eagle's bluff has some really good climbs....and some hidden bouldering too. In my experience, its best to climb there during the fall...its pretty amazing. We're probably going to move back the Maine once she's done with college, and if/when we do I've got one hell of a project list for the Millinocket area.

In the millinocket area? What's up there. I haven't been up that way much...not that near Bangor, but not that far. Hmm interesting. If any of you still know climbers in the area I would love to meet some. I don't have a vehicle so getting out is hard and meeting other climbers even harder right now. Thanks!

I'm from Maine originally, and you have 6-9 crags up to 300 feet near Bangor in the Clifton area. Some of these are Parks Pond Bluff, Eagle Bluff, Big Chick Hill. Alpineglow in Orono should have a guidebook and all the beta. Acadia is 1.5 hours from Bangor and will be the place to go while the black flies and mossy's are carrying off the children. You should be able to climb in Clifton if you wear enough deet. Otherwise wait until thing dry-out about the end of July. The rock near Clifton is great!

Enjoy!

Alix would you be interested in maybe climbing somewhere in the Camden Hills this upcoming weekend? Would love to get up to Clifton sometime, but it's a little far for me as a day trip from Wiscasset. Also, I climbed at Shagg Crag last week and had a fantastic time; it's a little far for you from Bangor maybe, but a really amazing steep sport crag. I'm free Sat or Sun, whatever is convenient. Give me a shout.
Cheers,
Phil.

I'm looking for someone to climb with tomorrow. I'm currently in North Conway, NH. If I can find someone that wants to climb in Acadia NP tomorrow, I'd be psyched to drive out there tonight. I don't have consistent access to the intersphere, so the best way to get ahold of me is to call: 3zero3/827/16zero5

~~I've climbed at Acadia before, years ago.
~~I lead through the 10s; follow most 11s.
~~Plenty of gear; 70m rope.
~~Seventeen years climbing experience. I climb for fun; not competitive.
~~Plays well with guys and gals alike.

Give me a call if you're looking for a partner for tomorrow, Tuesday 6.16.09.

Hey, i would love to climb tomorrow but it's such short notice. I've got some work i really need to be doing. If you are planning on heading up that way another day definitely let me know ahead of time. I've been dying to get up there.
