The Gunks in November?
How about it guys? |
No way to call it in general. Many climbable days most years. Early November is better than late November. |
It was like 50's and 60's out when I went there last year in Nov. Beautiful day. Get ready for the heinous entry fee though. |
You can find weather summaries for each month of last year at the Mohonk Preserve site. |
If the weather is just way too cold and there's been too much snow, are there any other recomendations? Is there any Ice to be climbed? |
It really depends on the weather. Deep notch is usually coldest spot in the are, along with Stony Cloves. If you are lucky, then yes. Last year, I did a few ice pitches up in Deep Notch, Catskill during thnxgiving weekend. Couldn't really top out because they were still wet, so you may have to do some dry-tooling. |
