I start tomorrow as a hotshot member for the Left Hand Canyon Fire District here in Boulder. I will Immediately start school to take the Forest Fire Certification and will get my official goahead as a full Forest Firefighter in 6 months. Fuck the reccession!

great for you, man i couldnt do that work in my 20's let alone right now. i got lazy and went the municipal side of firefighting.

Yep, I'm a hotshot going to school to get certified to start doing actual Forest Fire Training and then becoming an actual Forest Firefighter. I'm to old to go to smoke jumper school. Jumping scares me enough as it is. No need to add fire into the mix. IMO.

Those 21 day straight, traveling the country but not actually working but 10 days and getting paid triple time by the second week are MONEY!
