I am curious, after briefly skimming over the "locals" post, I started wondering just how many people are "local". So my question is, where are you from? Are you a born and raised Coloradoian, or are you a transplant, like me? I'll start. I grew up in northern N.Y., and always wanted to be where the big mountains were. So I moved here with my wife in the Summer of '07.

I moved to Dillon, CO with my family in 1982 from Louisiana. Graduated from Summit High School in Frisco, CO in 1985. Moved back and forth from Colorado to Louisiana(ULL), Oregon, and back to Colorado. I've climbed almost exclusively along the Front Range.

I hail from Minnesota. Once a Taylors Falls regular and Devils Lake weekender. Moved to The Front Range back in '82 for the climbing. Now an inbred Douglas County local who looks back on road trips with fond memories.

Military brat, born on an Air Force base in Bitburg, Germany. Bounced around between Germany, California, South Carolina, North Carolina, then landed in northern Virginia where I finished my last two years of high school and started rock climbing at Carderock in 83. Moved to Denver October 04 and I love it. Can't imagine living any place else, love the weather, love the people, love the climbing.

I grew up in central New York. My mother is from Crested Butte. I spent my summers there hiking with my grandfather and watching him work his saw mill. My whole family is or was really into skiing. Colorado was really the only place I ever wanted to live. When I got done with school in 94, I packed up all of my stuff and drove to Vail with no job or place to stay. I didn't grow up here but this is home to me.

Originally from Montana, but i've moved around a lot. This is my second time living in Colorado, though this time it was a forced relocation for a job. I'm looking forward to moving elsewhere when possible.

i grew up a stone's throw away from Detroit, MI (town called Redford) and climbed in the gym monthly with my dad and occasionally outside on vacations to Maine and elsewhere. went to college in South Bend, Indiana, driving to the Red River Gorge when weather/schoolwork allowed. not getting into med school gave me the opportunity to move to Fort Collins in June '08 for grad school and i'd definitely like to stay.

I've flourished through the US 285 corridor drainage ditches whilst betwixt outings to the splatte; though I scurry down to the city everyone so oft for a movie or three. Or just head westerly for some ice and snow. originally from the planet mars. no, make that france; we are from france.

I was born and raised in Hartford, CT. I came to the Boulder area via Prescott, Arizona (not enough of a winter down there for me). I've been in Colorado since November '06 and doubt I'll leave anytime soon. --Marc
