Can't find any climbing ropes on Petzl's updated website (they do have some static ropes on their commercial page).

Have they been discontinued? Doesn't make me feel too confident about the Nomad I got recently...

They just changed there whole website, so I can see how it may have been lost in the mix. I know petal ropes are made by a third party. I have had the nomad for over a year and its a great rope.

Samson ropes makes Petzls ropes. You can get samson rope for a cheaper price directly than if you bought petzl @ a shop. If you buy petzl your buying the sheath weave. They say that the dry coating is different but it seems to not matter much unless your buying industrial static rope and need corrosive chemical protection. Look threw patrollersupply.com if you can't find a full selection of petzl rope near you.

Petzl is still making ropes, so I would attribute the website difficulties with their new transition. Also, the Petzl rep I know says that Petzl ropes are made by "Cousin" which is a French rope manufacturer.

I noticed the same thing earlier this week. I emailed them and was told they are only sold in North America. I read that petzl ropes are made by cousin as well. I have both the nomad and the zephyr and love them both.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
