how is T-Wall grading
Doing my first trip to the south in a few weeks and wondering how T-Walls grades are. I'm most familiar with Gunks, JTree, Red Rocks, ADKs. |
From my limited experience at Red Rock, I'd say the grades at T-Wall are similar. Probably if you're leading 5.10s anywhere out west, you'll be able to handle them at there. T-Wall routes are easier for the grade than at the Gunks, but I guess the Gunks aren't in line with anywhere else but the Gunks. |

The grading at T-Wall is very similar to the Red Rocks. While you are down here, you definitely need to check out Sunset. The hike in is much easier compared to T-Wall. This is not to say that you should pass on T-Wall, because the two are superb. You might also think about Jamestown, AL. I would recommend getting a dixie cragger (Tennessee) guide. Hope you enjoy the south. It has the best climbing anywhere. |

Slightly stiff compared to a lot of places, I always thought. But outstanding! Some of the best single pitch routes I've ever climbed! |
much appreciated. I'll be there third week of april, so hopefully not too hot. |
The grading is spot on in most cases. Its a great place to climb (I was just there) and it's usually really generous in regards to gear placement. Have a good time and remember to hydrate, it gets hot up there. The pot-point boulders are worht checking out on a rest day, drtopo has good beta. |

I'm most familiar with Gunks, JTree, Red Rocks, ADKs.T-wall is easier than the gunks, harder than Red Rocks, and completely different than J-tree, which is largely friction climbing and hard to compare. I always thought Red Rocks was some of the easiest climbing in the country in the middle grades. (5.9-10). |

If you're coming 3rd week in April, make sure to keep an eye on the hunting closures. You can check the dates here. seclimbers.org/modules.php?… |
