Hey Jonathon,
Not Thursday, but I am coming from Seattle and will be near Denver (Elizabeth) area with free days to climb Fri-Mon. I won't have my screws or rope but everything else for ice. I'll follow 5s and lead 3+... 4 if I'm feeling good. It's best to email me directly - d o u g s e i t z AT y a h o o d o t c o m

Just curious, what kind of shape is Vail ice in now? Anybody out there have a current update?

Might be a wee late in the year for ice.......better take a rain jacket and stay away from the larger flows.....

With overnight lows in the teens and daytime highs in the mid twenties and low thirties the ice at the north facing vail climbs will be perfect!!!

Late March and early april is the best time of year to climb at Vail most years!!

Somebody decked from about 60 feet up on the Designator this weekend. Photo looks pretty fat but that cauliflower is a pain.

Was up there a week ago. The climbing was great then, although as Clyde mentions the cauliflower is getting pretty big. Tough to protect some of the lower sections of the Designator. The lead on the right was more protectable than left. The gaps between cauliflower (I'll call them huge teeth at this point) was long and deep. It's a solid climb.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
