Courtright reservoir
|
Went with some people from work for a day of fishing to this new lake I had never been to and what a wonderful discovery. Courtright is right in the middle of dome land and has some great looking stone. My question is this, I have found out that the only guide is out of print and apparently is several years old; does anyone have any recent beta on this place? Also, any beta on Wishon? looks like some good routes there too... |

There's lots of good information about Courtright Reservoir here on this site as well as at Summitpost.com. |

Check supertopo.com too. Lots of threads with many photos have been posted here. |

You should hook up with the Southern Sierra Climbers Association. It's a great group of active local climbers including many of the folks that put up the routes and wrote the guidebooks. |

Hey, thanks for the beta, I since have had someone email me the old guidebook with lots of good material. I would still like anything new that's going on up there. Anything on the fresno dome including directions? |

Funny, Fresno Dome is southern Yosemite, but it's the far north end of the "southern Sierra" (most people think of Sequoia/Kings, Courtright, Needles, Domelands, Kernville, etc). Fresno aka Wamello (aka Way-Mellow) Dome is 7500' and snowed in until mid to late May. Fresno, Shuteye, the Balls, Mammoth Pool - endless fun stuff! |
