To win this medal, I lost to Hans Florine by mear inches after him and I were sent through a speed climbing eliminator of approximately 50 challengers within a short period of time. As you kept winning and as the heat narrowed, you would immediately be sent up the wall against a new challenger, Hans and I endured to the end and had a fun, competitive go for the gold, (see old footage from event from 1989).
