I was wondering if anyone knew of any good guidebooks for the Northwestern California coast area. I have heard that the Falcon guide is lousy and wondering if this was true. Thanks

Bigfoot Country Climbing (Humphrey/Chemello) is the book you want and it should be available in the few local shops in that area.

To tag along on this thread, I've been interested in spending some time in Northern California but I know little about the climbing in the area. The furthest north I've climbed is Lovers Leap. What's a list of some good spots to hit on a summer road trip? Trad, sport, multi-pitch, etc.

I would reccomend Salt Springs first and foremost as it has Sport, Trad, Multi-pitch...and Big Wall. It's a little difficult finding topos and what not, but don't skip it, it's a Little Yosemite.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
