Paradise Forks in the winter?

I searched through the forums but couldn't find the answer. Is Paradise Forks alright this time of year? Too cold?

I'm leaving on a road trip tomorrow with N. Arizona as our first destination.

Thanks in advance for any beta you can provide.

Marc,

Average temps are mid-30s this time of year, with daytime highs in the 40s. Sunny days can be great all around Flag, and miserable if its cloudy, or when your route goes into the shade. Good news, you won't be fighting the crowds at the Forks this time of year.

Sedona is a warmer alternative to consider as well.

Thanks, Brian. We're headed for Sedona then Red Rocks. I was hoping to hit up Paradise on the way, but it seems like a skip right now.

Marc, The forks are perfect on a sunny day in the 40's. Stay on Davidson wall. Let it warm up a bit. The road can get sloppy this time of year so I would recommend a 4x4, or get out before the roads thaw. If you need a place to stay I live an hour and a half n. of Flag, or I have friends you could stay with in Flag. A friend of Ryan Franks is a friend of mine. Cheers Matt Snider

Matt--

Thanks so much for the offer. I think we might cruise right to Sedona, but I won't know for sure till the morning when I pick my partner up. Or more likely, we won't know until we're in Arizona. I'll keep you in mind for sure.

It should be nice this weekend. Todays high is 42, tomorrow 47, sat 52...roads might be a bit sloppy, but should be manageable. The snow has rapidly melted from the storms over the holidays.

Consider the Oak Creek Waterfall for a little warmer basalt venue.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
