New route in Sawtooths
Mixed route and Diamond on longs- RMNP

It is funny how year after year I check a few more big climbs off the list, and then the list fills back in with even more new objectives. My hope is that I accomplish atleast 3 of the 9 routes on this list this year.

I'm dreaming of alpine climbs:

Birds of Fire, Chiefshead
Yellow Wall to Forest Finish, Diamond
Pervertical Sanctuary, Diamond
The Barb, Spearhead
Sykes Sickle, Spearhead
Rain Dance, Arrowhead
Refugium, Arrowhead
South Face, Petit Grepon
Kor Route, Saber
Northeast Face, Pingora

If I can tackle half of these routes during the short alpine season, I'll be a happy climber.

Like Andy, Freeway is my #1 through #10.

I don't plan to travel much at all this year, so it's all local.

Numbers 11 through 20, in no particular order, would include:
- Youth Gone Wild (redpoint, it should be a gimme)
- Fleeing Heifer at Chek (at 5.12c it's a real stretch goal)
- Star Chek in the Cheakamous Canyon (

Following second pitch of "Star Chek" )
- Roman Chimneys to properly finish The Grand Wall
- The Grand Wall and Angel's Crest in day (recommended as training for Freeway)
- Burning Down the Couch (redpoint)
- Finestone Cowboy (on a cool spire at the top of Blackcomb mountain)
- Millenium Falcon (~10 pitch 5.11b on the Chief, but more face than crack)
- something on Slhanay
- take a shot at Black Water which is apparently a tough redpoint

Wow, it's good to see that people have some big goals for this year. I'm lucky enough to have plenty of classics left on my ticklist, so here are a few goals:

In Eldo:
Jules Verne
The Evictor
The Wisdom
Doub-Griffith

Also in Colorado:
Wunsch's Dihedral
D7
Scenic Cruise

And in the Valley:
Reg NW on Half dome (in a day)
The Nose, IAD
Astroman

Hope it'll be a good year,
Scott

Well I went back and looked at what I posted for last year and I only got on 1 of the 10. Not too good. Damn....

Well let's give it another try I guess.

1.Turkey foot crack, south platte, colorado
2.Sidewinder, south platte, colorado
3.Quivering Quill, south platte, colorado
4.The Cavity, lumpe ridge, colorado
5.Dunn-Westbay, the diamond, RMNP, colorado (for my first route on the diamond)
6.Road Warrior, the black wall, mt. evans, colorado
7.Paralell Universe, the black wall, mt.evans, colorado(go for the second known ascent in over 20 years!)
8.Sundevil Chimney, fisher towers, utah
9.Regular Route, islet in the sky, utah
10.Hallucinogen wall, the black canyon, colorado (need to climb in the black first).<----- HUGE GOAL.

Dare to dream.

I guess I'm kinda hooked on aid right now.

Threw a couple free climbs in for good measure, although with all the aid climbing I might just forget how to free climb. na. I'll just free climb between aid trips to keep me upto speed, I have a ton more free routes on my big tick list to fill the gaps.

Last year's goals:

1. The Original Route, Whitesides, NC
2-9. Everything at Laurel Knob, NC 5.10 and under for which I have topos
10. Punk Wave, Tallulah Gorge, GA

Results:

1. Did half of it, got stopped by ice and water on The Cresent Pitch.
2-9. Climbed one more route at LK...many more to go.
10. Didn't even touch it...but did do Flying Frog...best 5.10 pitch in TAG in my opinion.

Got to climb in Moab and LCC...so that was nice.

For 2009:

1. Finish the OR, Whitesides, NC
2. Complete Exum Ridge - Grand Teton, WY
3 & 4. Durrance and El Matador on the Devil's Tower, WY
5 & 6. Punk Wave and The Diagonal at Tallulah Gorge, GA
7, 8, & 9. Oasis, Fathom Direct, and Seconds at Laurel Knob, NC
10. Cinco De Mayo at Sandrock, AL on gear.

Funny! I just looked at my list for 2008 and it's very similar to my list for 2009, even the comment about staying local was there. Even though I didn't tick a single route from my 2008 list, I count 2008 as my best year ever. I guess that says a lot about my previous years...

I agree with your selection. I've done all listed with the exception of the routes on Arrowhead.
Pervertical Sanctuary is stellar!
Also try Dogcheese on McHenry's Paek

Ruper
Bastille Crack
Ant Hill Direct
Grand Giraffe
Tagger
Works Up
West Buttress
Hair City
Metamorphosis
Green Spur
Green Slab Direct
And anything else that is moderate and accessible to a dude that is coming off an injury and has a limited time frame.
Also some stuff in the Platte if we can get the gathering together that I've heard about through the grapevine. That would truly be an event to attend. So let's make it happen! Ok?
