Thanks, John and Gigette. Your photos assuage my regret for not being able to enjoy this unique scenery in person.

Thanks, guys! I really enjoyed taking the photos. I wished I could have stayed all day, and hiked around longer to see more of the amazing snow, and ice features, but I had to get to work that day. I couldn't believe my eyes, and the pics don't do justice to the extreme beauty, and energy of it. I wish you could have been there! G

So assuming it doesn't dump another 3-5 inches between now and thursday, sport climbing at Red Rocks should be climbable? single pitch in direct sunlight right? just want to make sure its possible before I commit to the drive. Thanks for the beta vegastradguy!

Julie and I were up at the end of Cheyenne Ave this afternoon (3:30 PM) on our way, hiking the approach to the Rodeo Wall. Spitting snow from the SW. No snow on the limestone edges with southern exposure in that area. A little snow on the top of the Rodeo Wall. Brrr...

Hey all, I was looking to come out and do some intermediate (5.8-5.10) sport climbing for a few days, starting on the 31st. Is it sounding like things are gonna be climabable? The weather forecast looks like a little more rain, but no snow. Any locals have a good idea of whats to come? I appreciate any help, and look forward to any info about red rocks for a first timer.

I was out looking at the canyons today...there's alot of snow. Reminds me of a few years ago when there were very big fat ice flows in the upper reachs of sevral canyons....climbable ice flows. josh

The weather looks good this week with highs close to 60 on wed and thurs and a bit cooler on the weekend. Conditions should be great for climbing but be careful of your decent routes, probably lots of ice in the canyons that don't receive sun exposure.
