Great climbs with beautiful walk-offs:

Jubilant Song: 5.8 Windy Canyon
Black Dagger: 5.7 Juniper Canyon
Purblind Pillar 5.8: White Rock Springs/Angel Food Wall.

If you are looking for something to do this time of year, I would suggest Jubilant Song. South facing, long approach, not in the park so no time restriction, no crowds and an awesome climb!

For some of us uninitiated to Red Rocks, what are the "time restrictions" you refer to in the park?

The Loop road, which is used to access 85% of the climbing in Red Rock, opens at 7am and closes at 6pm(???) this time of year. The hours vary but it always "opens" and "closes".
If you are caught in the loop road without a bivy or late exit permit, there is a big fine.

Actually the gates always open at 6, and this time of year closes at 5. You can call for a late exit permit to avoid fines 702-515-5050.

Windy Peak(jubilant song) and Whiskey Peak(frogland) are both in south red rock outside of the park. Frogland may be a bit cold this time of year.

I'll second the recommendations of Olive Oil and Rainbow Buttress as two quality routes that will be in the sun and have walk-offs.

Also, not sure how long you are looking for, but I've had some good (and warm!) days on the Brownstone Wall.

Randy! Did you find someone to climb with? Sorry I can't make it out this year...

Hot Fudge Thursday is sunny, and the walk off of Windy Peak is easy and scenic. Don't go up to Windy Peak on a windy day, though!

If its warm enough, Frogland is great.

Anything to the summit of Mescalito gives you a wonderful hike at the end of the day.

Anything up to the top of Brownstone Wall is also a great hike, but don't go if there is snow in the Gunsight. Many routes there hold the sun until midday.

Sunflower or Sundog (to the top of the formation), and Black Orpheus have a spectacular walk off that involves only a couple of easy rappels.

The hike from the top of Rainbow Mountain also covers some nice terrain (either routes near Levitation & Eagle Dance, or a Rainbow Wall route like Bird Hunter), but that's a huge amount of ground to cover during the short days of winter.

What's wrong with a butt-slide or two down the snowy gunsight?

Dittos on Jubilant Song, 5.8 (Windy Peak)...south facing, outside the park, time flexibility, etc.

A fun route! Nice views and pleasant walk-off.

If he wanted to sit in the snow, he'd stay home in Minnesota and go ice fishing.

I had to laugh when I heard it snowed 3-4 inches down at McCarren. We still have 3-4 inches on our street, *after* the snow plow has been through twice.

Still, it sure looks gorgeous!
