Here is three different ways to girth hitch around a tree/boulder. I use all three ways depending on the situation. This is a bad example of girth hitch. Notice the direction of pull(toward the camera) and how the carabiner is being mashed up against the rock/tree. This is where you could have problems.<br> SO DO NOT DO IT THIS WAY. <br> <br> Taken for a forum on rc.com<br>
