Hey Guys and Gals,

I was writing to urge any interested parties to register to volunteer for the Horsetooth Hang this year! The Northern Colorado Climber's Coalition is excited to announce a number of changes and new features this year that will make the event even better than last year. Check out our lineup of activities and new things going on this year:

# A Wild West theme where participants are strongly encouraged to bust out their western wear and take part in an awesome assortment of activities including the snakeskin sandbagger challenge, shard round up, rodeo clip ranger and much more.

# A chance to win a limited edition Organic chalk bucket made with New Belgium donated canvas…This year it is Biere de Mars and they are sick!

# A formal competition aspect of the Hang for people that want it (if you don’t want to compete, no worries, we are still all about hosting a day of camaraderie and fun)

# An official Access Fund Adopt-A-Crag trash clean-up

# Shoe demos from La Sportiva, Five-Ten, Scarpa and Evolve

# Booths from great climbing companies, gear shops, and land managers

# The infamous Hang afterparty hosted by Hodi’s Half Note

# Slideshow by professional athletes Angie Payne and Jamie Emerson

# Free Beer from New Belgium Brewing (21+)

# Free Dinner from Uncle’s Pizzeria

# And of course, the absolutely, ridiculously GIGANTIC gear raffle! We have well over $8,000 worth of great stuff including PADS from Organic, Black Diamond, Flashed, and Revolution, SHOES from Sportiva, Five-ten, Scarpa and Evolve, ROPES and so much more!

# Live music after the raffle

# As always, all the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Access Fund and the Northern Colorado Climbers Coalition.

# Urban Climber has also generously donated ridiculously cheap subscriptions (1 year for $5) to any Hang participant or volunteer who wants one.

Full day volunteers receive their very own Horsetooth Hang 2008 t-shirt, two raffle tickets (for over $8,000 worth of goodies), free b-fast snacks and lunch, and free admission to the event and after-party.

Half day volunteers will receive only one raffle ticket, though they will be able to acquire another during the trash pickup, along with the plethora of other incentives. Half day volunteers also receive a discounted entry fee of $15.

If you are interested and available Saturday, September 27th (or October 4th in-case of inclimate weather), please register through horsetoothhang.net. All donated hours and collected money will be donations to either the Northern Colorado Climbers Coalition or the Access Fund.

Hope to see you there!

Hi All,

The Hang is just around the corner and we still need quite a few volunteers to make the event happen. The weather looks great and it is going to be a ton of fun! We also have a ridiculous amount of schwag to give away including pads, shoes, ropes, clothes, gym passes and lots more.

As a little bit of new incentive, we have some awesome looking limited edition chalk bags and buckets that Organic has made up especially for us. They are made with canvas donated by New Belgium and won't be around for very long! This year they feature Biere De Mars graphics or text on top of Organic's already bomber construction and design.

Volunteering for the Hang is always a good time and a great way to give back to one of the most popular crags in the Fort Collins area. Due to overwhelming community support from Hang volunteers in the past, we have been able to develop a solid relationship with Larimer County Parks and Open Lands and the City of Fort Collins Natural Areas These relationships have enabled us to officially open the Piano Boulders area to climbing as well as work collaboratively on helping plan a sustainable trail system at Rotary Park (which construction will begin on next year).

We always make it super rewarding to volunteer, so please come out again this year. You can register online through our website at:
