Apparently a serious climbing accident occurred at the Dome in Boulder Canyon this afternoon, Sat June 21. After climbing higher up the canyon that day, as we were leaving around 4:30pm we observed multiple rescue vehicles at the Dome, and saw rescue personnel at the base of the East Slab tending to some victim. Does anyone have any more information they might contribute?
The accident occurred on the first pitch of Cozyhang on the Dome. The man climbed up to the third overhang, and placed a cam. His belayer is fairly new to climbing, he told his belayer to ready herself, and he tried to take a small fall, with the cam at his chest, to give her a feel for catching someone falling. But the cam greased out, his next of pro, which was below the first roof, held. To the woman's credit, she did a great job of catching him. The man suffered a sever broken ankle exposing the tibia. RMR was quickly on the scene, stabilized his leg and evacuated him.

Thanks; glad to know this, and glad it wasn't more serious.
