Here's a wider view of the sign in its natural setting. Bummer Gigi and I spent so much time scrutinizing this sign before setting out on the climb. Were we fooled? Nope, but I think at one point we asked ourselves "is that Walk on the Wild Side or a cheap way to die?" Har har de har!

Maybe under the ominous disclaimers posted such as: "Park Service does not assume responsibility... It explicitly disclaims all responsibility for the safety of... blah blah..." they should have posted:
"routes drawn for demonstrative purposes only" "actual mileage may vary" "route descriptions not valid in all areas" "some restrictions may apply"
Actually every route the Park Service has detailed in that photo is drawn in the wrong place.... The NPS is aware of it, but they don't seem to care. For a similar laugh check out the wall size photo inside JT park Headquarters. It is of Lost Horse Valley, and the negative was reversed when they made it, so the entire shot is a mirror image.
