Anyone got a handle on the descent off Space Shot? We did some scoping but would like to hear from someone who's done it. Any help would be great...feel free to hack the image and draw the darn thing on there.

Walk/scramble over to the far right on ledges. Then, I think a combo of down climbing and rappelling (might be a big tree) in a corner system on the right side of the big bowl leads to the steep drops. Should be rappel anchors heading straight down from there (left of Desert Shield). Would be sketchy to do in the dark, to say the least.

Try this. It's kind of hard to make out the exact location of the raps on the photo but this should give you a pretty good idea. There's a short scramble and traverse before the last rap.

Also, I would say good, general beta would be to aim for the two, tall pine trees on the far side of the slabs above the Leaning Wall. Stay high or mostly contour the slabs when approaching them and then switchback down to them once above them. You rap from slings around the lowest tree. I don't think it's too bad in the dark (I did it in the dark my first time) but hopefully you can get a look at the trees while it's light out to create a mental picture in your mind of where you're going. After the first rap, scramble and traverse on the ledge system towards Desert Shield to gain the next rappel.
