Gotta love canyoneering! It would be cool to post technical slots up on MP. They are so much fun. Took my whole rack to UT last memorial day weekend, didn't climb a day. Lunacy considering how good the climbing is supposed to be from wingate to mud towers.... But The high spur and alcatraz made up for it.
The colors here are just amazing. I took a similar pic when I was down there earlier this summer and it's now my desktop. It's awesome. Not a fun hike to get here, but a pretty cool rap into the canyon (if you come in at the middle), then through a sweet keeper hole (it's at least ten feet deep, so I'm told, so take some buddies with something to help each other out with; unless it's full of water, which was my experience; We swam through; Very fun) and onto this last rap. And yes, it's a swim out, but not too far. Looks like there's a sand bar in the background, so the water must not have beern very deep in the pic. It was well over our heads in. . .July? It had rained a lot the week before we went. I would suggest using a "hydrobot" by Kong for any raps into water, or any canyoneering and rappelling really. It is very smooth, very easy to use, and you don't have to risk dropping your device while coming off the rope by opening the gate of your beaner to get off the rope. Check it out. Pretty cheap too. Great pic.
