What is the best guidebook for the high peaks of Rocky Mountain National Park?

Rossiter?
Gillett?

Thanks!

I really find Gillett's book well laid out, helpful, and easy to use. Beta is accurate and the pics and topos definately do the routes justice. Just my 2cents.

Then again, my bud digs the Rossiter guide. Better take a look at both.

Go with Gillett.
Rossiter is great with books around Boulder (I think his Eldo book is excellent.)
Gillett's topos are less confusing and the route descriptions have everything you need for the Park and Lumpy

Hmm Gillett 2, Rossiter 1...

Both Gillet and Rossiter have two guide books for the area, one for Higher Peaks and one for the Estes Park area, which includes Lumpy. So the Higher Peaks guidebooks do not have Lumpy Ridge in them. Neptune's has both books by both authors. Why not drop by the store and compare beta and topos for routes you want to do? I have the Gillet books myself and like them. If you are buying the books online or where you live, then I see where yer coming from. I think either is a good choice.

Having both and this web site should give you the best info you can have. It seems both books have have good info...

Definitely get the Gillett books, Bernard has been climbing in the area for decades and is very knowledgeable about the routes.

Gillett's is newer and has a lot more routes.

Everyone knows Walter Fricke's is the best!
