One more of the Wolf. This is when it was closer to the truck. About 75 yards out.

Are you sure you don't want to call it Coyote Rock? It looks a little too small for a wolf.

I was waiting for someone to question that. It was for sure a Wolf. It was huge. Pictures dont do its size justice. Look at how long its legs are in the first picture. It was at least as big as my German Shepard, and she weighs in at 68lbs. So there is no way that was a coyote. Believe me, I did plenty of research looking at pics and reading about weight and size before I realized we saw a Wolf.

Wolf Rock it is then. In this picture it looks exactly like a coyote I shot a few years ago and you're right sometimes pictures don't do justice.

I know what you mean. I've seen so many coyotes, but I was questioning this one the hole time I was watching it. I just kept saying, "That's too big to be a coyote, and it's legs are so long."

I also zoomed in on the photo and cropped out the closest clear image of the Wolf. So it may be a bit deceaving as to how big it is.

Sorry John but there is no question that this is a coyote. Perceived size is not a good field mark for seperation of canines. The long ears and slender muzzle make this a coyote.

First thing I thought of when I saw this shot when it was posted was a gray fox. But what do i know. Still pretty damn cool.

Definitely a coyote. Without a doubt.
