There has been a major rock slide on the Rincon talus slope so please use extreme caution when crossing to the Rincon routes.

Woah!!
Hopefully no one was hurt. . .I always wondered if that thing would slide at all. I'm gonna have to go up and check the damage.
Do you have any pics??

Not yet! I will ask one of the rangers to take some pictures - check back with us at eldorado.park@state.co.us in week or so if you'd like to see.

It looked like a huge chunk of cliff left of the Over The Hill area calved off sometime last week, splintering trees and sending rock and debris hundreds of feet down the boulderfield. Pretty sobering stuff, certainly so if you've ever examined the cliff high above Chockstone-to-Xanadu, or the Hot Spur area, or the Great Zot, or...............

........Shirt Tail Peak.

Any routes destroyed or changed by the rockfall, Steve?

Holy rockslide Batman!!
We were just up at Over the Hill area a week or two ago, before the rains started!! Definitely sobering!!
Hot Spur just looks like a drop of water will send the whole thing down!! The N. Umberland Crack has got to be one of the chossy-est routes I've climbed.
Thanks for the Info ECSP and Steve!!

The rockslide appeared to be well left of any routes.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
