The Vampire from the start of The Trough. You can see shadows of flakes which make up The Vampire leading up from the Bat Crack.
Fred finds it hard to hide his grin on pitch 4.

Here are the ever delightful final sections (5.8) of The Vampire. The climbing is easy, and the exposure is full on. One can't help but feel a sense of true accomplishment for having climbed such a stellar route that is seeped in so much history. At this point in the climb, you get that adrenaline warm tat we all live for s climbers. Go Do The Vampire...it is one of the all time great traditional climbs...anywhere!
