That looks like the grotto, except 100 times better. Is that basalt? Based off of what I've climbed in my backyard.

Its called phonolite porphyry. Basically, its granite that formed in such a way as to look like basalt. Its much denser than either though. This actually the first time I've heard someone say that Devils Tower looks like something else. Typically, it goes "hey, that looks like Devils Tower". Weird.
