Primary Function: The Access Fund Affiliate Director (AD) develops and enhances the Access Funds grassroots network and manages the Adopt a Crag and TeamWorks stewardship programs.
Description: The AD is the lead contact for the Access Funds extensive grassroots network of over 90 affiliate local climbing organizations (LCOs) and 45 regional coordinators (RCs). The AD provides outreach, stewardship, advocacy, organizational, and educational support for LCOs, RCs, and local activists. The AD is responsible for enhancing the grassroots network by developing and promoting a joint membership program with LCOs that successfully achieves our shared missions, provides key resources and services, and empowers LCOs to address climbing access and conservation at the local level. The AD provides leadership for the Adopt a Crag and TeamWorks stewardship programs and develops educational materials for the grassroots network and national climbing community.
Access Fund Policy Analyst
Primary Function: The Access Fund Policy Analyst (PA) manages core programs in policy analysis, advocacy, and communications.
Description: The PA is the Access Funds lead contact for local climbing management plans and other land management plans on federal and state lands that affect climbing opportunities. The PA also works with AFs Affiliate Director to provide support for local affiliate organizations and activists, and designs and implements advocacy campaigns where necessary and appropriate to successfully achieve our shared missions. Work is accomplished through analysis of land management planning documents, advocacy in the form of community organizing, meetings with policy makers, and the production of comment letters to regional, state, and federal land administrators.
