These crags have some fine climbing. New guide has partial info. Maybe we can keep it that way. Cool approach from the north side trail to tahquitz.

I think this 2 pitch route rocks, but it needs more traffic. Don't be afraid of it, the pro is more than adequate. The locks are bomber, and the climbing is thoughtful. Go do it so it will clean up and then I will enjoy it even more!!!

Racking up for a great day on some Bulge Routes. Standup Flake, to The Flakes, to The Price of Fear. Great day!!! The best day up here is when a little snow is on the ground. That is when you will have everything from Fingertrip to Y Crack all to yourselves.

Comments: I've always liked combining the first two pitches, using the 2nd pitch belay that is in the book's topo as the first belay. I have always gotten to the top in two.

Comments: I like the 2nd pitch of Dave's over jam crack. Better and more sustained climbing... some pro can be found. And with the line of bolts to the left, I really like clipping the bolt and turning the overlap/ roof to get to the ledge.

Comments: A very short-lived pain in the ass. This is my normal start to Snakes or Consolation. Care should be taken to avoid knocking loose stuff off, but that's Tahquitz...

Comments: I guess if you want a paint by numbers approach... but I still don't see a whole lot of "original" material on this page.

Comments: Combining pitches 2 and 3 makes for a better second pitch. If you do the Stairway to Heaven variation, clip the belay with long slings and keep going. If doing the 5.8 2nd pitch, no need to go to the belay bolts, just keep on trucking to the base of Price of Fear.

Comments: I can't think of too many places a #4 is really needed, and definitely not a #5. there is always a spot nearby that a #3 would work just fine. the first pitch is different character and gear than second pitch. the original pitches are rather short too, so you really don't need extra gear to combine the 2 pitches. just a normal rack for more normal length pitches.

a 60m rope will just work fine... barely... if your knot is just right...
