Comments: I agree, absolutely no need for a move by move, piece by piece trip report, some folks may want to onsight this and are reading comments only to make sure the route is safe and not sandbagged.

Comments: yep, a #1 or even a .75 works on the ledge after the bolts. great moves on this climb and fully safe with one cam.

Comments: You know of sport climbers that live in the closet? If this is true the east coast is way more weird than I originally thought.

Comments: I have done a few routes there from the bottom and believe that cliff is destined for a few more bolts.

Comments: Those fuckers camping in there are also trashing the area. I cleaned a bit last time and piled it all up on their firepit so they might take notice, if they give anyone any shit I'd call the cops and tell them about a psycho with a knife.

Someone went through the whole area recently and cut vines off of trees, mostly poison ivy that was choking them out, check it out, it was quite a bit of work.

Comments: The driving up possibility on Baldwin Drive has been shut down since the day the Uhaul got pushed off the cliff but it is an easy bike ride, 10 minutes on a paved road. Its actually a really nice bike ride on Baldwin drive if you do the whole road and come back on the road down below past Lake Wintergreen. Some sweet boulder along the way as well.

Comments: just scanning the classics on the front page and notice that All chalk as well as trench warfare are not listed, in fact no 12s are. kind of strange since people travel great distances to do these routes.

Comments: Actually for the first 15 or so years I only cragged on weekdays(maple and american fork get too crowded on weekends), it wasnt until I moved east where everyone is a slave to the man that it became weekends. Honestly though, I've been known to belay with a grigri with no hand on the brake side while not wearing a helmet on top of clipping in the wrong direction. I guess I like the thrill of it all.

Comments: This is funny for two reasons.

- ratings at the Gunks maybe be on the YDS but I would never compare the ratings there to any other crag I've ever been to. I'd go as far to say that the ratings there are almost a number grade off most places. I do agree the B.Beetroots would be a 10b at the Gunks though. Guy Bon wouldnt know this since he has never done a route there! Hell, most of the 5.10 cracks I've done in Yosemite would get downrated to 5.9 at the gunks.

Comments: easy to set up by climbing over from the top of Drill Wavin and a fun TR, the danger is only from placing protection of any kind.

Comments: The whole roof section in the middle of this route seems like it could shed THOUSANDS of pounds of rocks quickly if the wrong piece of rock was pulled on, especially after a good freeze/thaw period. Its a fun TR but I personally would NEVER recommend someone belay from the bottom since there is absolutely nowhere to hide if a rock came loose.
