Comments: We did the direct rappel straight off the notch off the north side from the summit of the Foil. 4 200 ft rappels got us to the base of Poc Club and a short scramble to our packs at the base of South Face. AWESOME ROUTE. INCreDIBLE SUMMIT.

Comments: A short scramble from here to the base of the route maybe a few hundred feet above you.

Comments: Just did this route. Thought it was great. The beginning is a loose, steep corner upto a weird flake below a fist-sized crack in a corner. The 2nd pitch goes through the lieback in the corner to a chimney all about 5.8 and well-protected. The next pitch has options, we took the clean face to the left at 10a not protected, for a full 200 ft pitch. We joined the route back at the 5.9 R section and moved around to the right to the mega kajunga, last pitch of 5.9+, well-protected, heart stopping exp... more >>

Comments: Why are so many comments about copperheads at Peterskill here on Mountain Project? I lived on Trapps road and at Split Rock for a few years, worked as a Preserve Ranger and a Minnewaska State Park Ranger, spend years of my life at the Peterskill doing everything from climbing to dirtbiking out there. There are plenty of snakes, copperheads and rattlers all over. My friends dog got into a copperhead once, it was bad. Beware all over the Gunks for those little dudes.

Comments: Got my feet way left, pressed the side of my head against the right side, and got a no hands rest in the middle of the crux. Then my foot skittered, and I over gripped like a school girl and got out of there. Awesome route, all of it. First pitch is cake to protect, no sweat.

Comments: Just made my first trip to the Woo. This was my first route there. I will be going back next weekend. And the weekend after that. And after that.... Just need to get a pair of brass knuckles and my wide crack rack will be complete.

Comments: Apparently they're not into sandbagging in the gunks anymore. Weak, I think.
