Location: CO : CO Ice & Mixed : Silverton : South Mineral Creek : Snowblind (WI4) By: Todd R When: Nov 19, 2008 | view comment >> | Comments: Choose your day wisely for this one (and all in the Silverton area). A buddy and I went to climb it on November 7th a few years back, on a day with 6" of new snow. We were about 15 feet from becoming statistics when the sun warmed the E-facing aspect of the somewhat hidden bowl 1500' above us, and something began to move. A big slide left a debris pile 100m long by 12 feet deep, filling in the gully below the route. We decided to drink coffee instead that day....

Location: CO : CO Ice & Mixed : Ouray (Ice/Mixed) : US Highway 550 : Gravity's Rainbow (WI5 M3+) By: Todd R When: Jan 4, 2008 | view comment >> | Comments: Gravity's Rainbow is still in and fat, although a bit funky just over half way up. There are multiple lines to be had and we actually climbed parallel another party this morning. It took good screws the whole way.

(where it says 5.6 on the topo) Head out right on a sandstone ledge system for 60+ feet (it's been a while, sorry about the foggy memory). It's mostly 4th class with a bit of exposed low 5th to a bolted belay on a big ledge. Climb up corner... more >>

Location: AZ : Northern Arizona : Sedona Area : Sedona : Church Spires Area : ... : Praying Hands (5.11a/b) By: Todd R When: Nov 17, 2007 | view comment >> | Comments: John didn't have to entice me too hard to finish this route with him, as I had a penchant for OW at the time. The OW roof pitch is perhaps the coolest pitch of climbing I've ever done. Bring a camera! Another tip- take your helmet off before you get into the chimney- my Petzl Ecrin Roc didn't fit!
