07/20/09:
I'm looking for moderate grade partners. Looking to climb Long John Wall and/or Gambit (5.8) by the end of this summer.
A little bit about my climbing history... I recently moved back to Colorado after spending 4+ years in the northeast. I completed the CMC's Boulder Mountaineering School (believe it's called the Boulder Rock School now) back in 2002 and been climbing ever since. Before moving east in late 2004, I managed to complete several climbs (<5.7) in Eldo, Boulder Canyon and the Flatirons learning the sport with an emphasis on safety and practicing what I learned from the CMC, books, and other climbing partners. Anyway, I climbed extensively in the northeast honing my skills and gaining confidence. I'm a solid 5.7 trad leader (w/o roofs -- still sketchy for me) and follow up to 5.9. I enjoy both sport and trad climbing and respect the often controversial objectivity each style brings to the sport of rock climbing... the bittersweet "why do I climb" mindf*ck.
In my spare time, I hang out with my 15 month old daughter, my beautiful wife, play the guitar, sing some songs, and enjoy a few cold brews. I work from home and my workday ends at 2:30p so late afternoon climbing is perfect for me during the week.
