Yeah, I don't think Brent's comments were meant to be hurtful either. I would love to hear Spanky's response to Brent's implied questions.

The whole libel segue distracted the intent of Brent's letter-which was "Spanky you have expressed high standards for Lumpy, FLAMED those who you think don't hold those same standards, and then put in a route that I (Brent) think is as bad as the routes you have condemned."

Spanky, please don't take ... more >>

I think Brent Armstrong's letter that started this thread should be revisited.

Comments: I would agree that more and or new landowners in the area will facilitate a closure to the free and primitive camping in the area. I don't think we can win the battle over free and primitive camping, but I do think we should try to fight for parking-it already is a long return to the car. Access fund to the rescue/preemptive strike?

Comments: The bolt at the top of the third pitch next to the bird poo could stand to be replaced. So could the others; however, I don't really see them as necessary, and a fatty at the bird shit area would be nice.

Comments: Justin,

Considering what the black canyon did to your pooper last time, I would run the next time it pulls down your pants...

Comments: As Patrick suggested, I would bring 2 #2 Camalots and 2 #3 Camalots for the first pitch. My partner managed to leap-frog gear, but I wouldn't want to wish such a lead on anybody. I was fairly psyched to get a good orange TCU at the top of the crack on pitch 2 before the traverse. Walking the #5 is the way to go for pitch 3...unless you are soloing.
