Comments: Hardest moves at base. This is where ratings fail. You could say the start is 5.8 for me, as the movement is more akin to something rated 5.8 or above, and then it eases up after that and I wouldn't rate it. The steep bit halfway up again is more challenging than typical 5.7 or whatever, and then eases up yet again. Humans and their ratings. It's not hard, unless it is, then it is, unless you're someone else. Whatever it is, it's pretty fun.

Comments: Clearly you are not well acquainted with John's undergarment selection. As one of his most trusted aides, I have been privy to his wardrobe and I have seen that he did not even possess a jock strap, for he had no use of such things.

I do not require one either, as there are no jock straps currently available on the market to hold my beanbag chair-size testicles in place while climbing. I have resorted to throwing my scrotum over my right shoulder, and coiling my penis around my chest many times... more >>

Comments: Ben, I'm sure you're a swell guy in real life, but you're not quite the sharpest crayon in the shed on here. I know who Mendenhall is.

Carrion.

Comments: According to a friendly local, someone has chipped holds on this route, or around this route. It used to be harder but now feels like .10a the whole way, according to him.

Comments: FWIW there is a solid bolted anchor above this flake, which I use for both flakes as well as that 5.4 crack without problem.

Comments: Small cams work great on the flakes. I have WC Zeroes and BD X4's. I place these as well as a #1 and #.75 C4 on left flake, and smaller C4's on right flake.

Comments: Linked P1-2 with a 70m. Not a fan of what would've been P2's steep section, though I was in approach shoes. Did P3 normal to the huge belay/bivy ledge where one has ample room to shout obscenities (good for communication with follower). P4 was cool, steep, nice finish but would've been easier with rock shoes on. Fixed Rock Empire cam in crack above that. Sorta awkward rapp anchor around tree. Easy rapps down but be smart with pulling ropes or you could get them stuck. Had to reclimb P3 to get ro... more >>
