Comments: If anyone climbing in the 11-12 ranges is looking for a sweet place to climb then check out Sadernes, probably my favorite place in Spain.

Comments: I could see how someone might jack a finger on this one move wonder. I could only fit 2 fingers into the small, sharp pocket. Tried twice and moved on before I popped something.

Comments: I thought this was one of the best non-highball V-2's in the happies, all the holds are about the same size, all the moves are around the same difficulty.

Comments: There are numerous ways to do this problem, for me it's probably v4, but if you're less than 6' then it's at leat V5. Some dude from mammoth was doing it without using the crimp rail (right hand on sloper and left on left facing sidepull) and that felt harder than V6 to me, so go screw around on it, it's a fun set of holds to play with!

Comments: The bugs were absolutely horrible on 6/16/12, mostly horseflies and 'no-see-ums', or biting gnats. DEET didn't do any good. If you're dying to climb here go early (88 degrees in the afternoon) and wear long pants and shirts. Hopefully this is a short lived thing, cause 3 days later I look like I have chicken pox and still itch like a mo-fo despite a thick layer of benadryl cream.

Hope this helps people decide which crag to hit up. I can't wait till it cools off a bit so I can get back on some ... more >>

Comments: BLM would prefer if NOONE used the upper parking lot. I would rather hike in from the bottom since it is faster than the drive around and less wear on my car.

Comments: The consensus when I was there was that this was a v4 for those under 6 ft., also the new book gives it V4.

Comments: Super classic route, but I think for Beacon, Yosemite and Broughton this is a rather soft 10b, but maybe I'm just extra good at stemming???

Comments: We dragged a 4 & 5 and I appreciated not having to mess with the little funky pieces you would need.

Dodd's is solid 10c, despite all these tough guy sandbagger's on here, and Dastardly Crack is 10a! Even with these ratings you'll feel like you're working for the grade!

Comments: The parking area is closer to 2 miles from Cheyenne crossing, there is a small bridge at the back of the parking lot. Spearfish canyon has amazing rock quality, but the grades at the low end are sandbagged compared to smith rock, lander, American fork, or almost any other sport crag I have been too. The bolts are typically close enough that a fall will be short and painless, but add a grade to all the 8, 9, & 10s and you'll have a more realistic rating for your chosen route. And if you want to c... more >>

Comments: I just sent this.

I fully support small area closures to Arches national park, such as near popular arches, but climbing in Arches NP typically is in unpopular areas and far from the publics eye. Arches NP has a very long, and important historic impact on climbing, and should be considered one of the many activities for the public to enjoy while visiting Arches NP.
Thankyou for the opportunity to add my thoughts.

Comments: I never met the guy, but I always get pretty bummed out when I hear of a climber dying. I didn't find out til Saturday, but since then I'm constantly thinking about it, how he must of felt for those half seconds flying through the air (I took a forty footer last summer and I swear I could write a novel on everything that went through my head). I love climbing on Skinner/Pianna routes in Wyoming, i feel real bad for his family and partners.

This is sure to have quite an effect on the whole clim... more >>
