Comments: Wily Javelina is a fun route with a lot of bolts on it for the area. Small wires and cams can be placed here and there throughout the route if you feel you need them. Yes, the first pitch starts just left of the roof for Table for Two. The bolt you see 30 to 40 feet up is the start of the route. If you start on the other side of the tree to the far left of the roof for Table for Two and climb through a bolt or two and pass a button head (that you can cinch a small wire onto for protection) you a... more >>

Comments: Climbed Table for Two a week ago. I led the even pitches, it was a lot of fun, especially the 4th pitch. The 2nd Heebee-Jeebee pitch was good, the question is... do you walk across the thin ledge or do you use your hands to hang from the ledge to cross it; it appears to be "to each his own". As is the style to the climbing in the area the protection can be spacey at times but there when you need it.

Comments: Climbed B-Cubed a few weeks ago. I'm not an old school runout climber and I had fun. I had the odd pitch leads with the first being the only wiggy one due to two bolts and no other possible protection for the better part of a 60 meter rope. Though, as they say "a 5.6/7 runout with potiential ground fall should not be a concern if you are a solid 5.10 climber". I think two more bolts (halfway between the 1st and 2nd, and halfway between the 2nd and anchors) would easily up the popularity of this ... more >>

Comments: Good to hear that the consensus is in the 11 zone. I've been on it the last three times out and haven't finished it with less than one fall. I'm not falling on the other tens in the area.

Comments: yep, they've been there for maybe thirteen years. The route was never really cleaned after the aid first ascent. As Eric indicated the goal was a free ascent. Real life kicked in and I have not been strong enough since to get back on it. The overall rock is solid, it is that lower section above the last bolt that needed cleaning and never got to it.

Comments: Just to note: I hiked out to Revindell, which I admittedly must have spelled wrong but the editor did not catch it and call before the first guide went to press, to see exactly how bad the trail was after hearing about if over the past few years. Yep, the original very scenic trail is gone. Recently I have attempted several other ways into Revindell but have reached the same conclusion that determined the first trail. Soldier's Trail takes one to high with a unrealistic approach descent/ascent i... more >>

Comments: Just to note: Yep, the first bolt is now worthless. When the climb was first put up the first bolt was probably ten or so feet higher. The canyon floor has significantly risen on the left side of the wall over the year. We use to swim below My Precious after the rains.

Comments: Just to note: I was not an aid climber when I did the first ascent of My Precious on lead. The actual goal was to do it free. The gear that has been swinging for over thirteen years was there for the free ascent, it is not fixed. Just got busy with real life and never made it back due to not being strong enough to attempt the free lead. Actually, I thought someone would have freed it years ago! Is it A2?, well that depends on what book you read, what video you have watched and who is with you wi... more >>
