Comments: Rock quality was so bad (sharp edges) that we just toproped on one of the little features high to the left. Getting down required setting ropes and putting climbers on prusiks. I had heat exhaustion by the end, which probably shows!

Comments: Great work Andrew! I hope it sees a second ascent before long. I think people tend to underestimate the difficulty from the ground, because the wall looks so featured.

Comments: Fun start, then pulling on tufa, then the scar, then some cruxy exposed climbing to a diving board. Something for everyone. After the scar, one can escape left to avoid the crux (I put a bolt left), then move back right. But why? It's a good fall.

Comments: The "three bros" are Tyler Hoffart, Ko Win Ko, and Ko Lin Htet Aung. They really bonded during the month Tyler spent on the bolting project.

Comments: If you climb to the base of these routes by the stairs, be sure to remove your shoes as you pass through the pagodas along the base of the crag.

Wear a helmet at the base of these routes. Loose rock comes down on every other climb, and there's no place to run to. It's not just about your head--it's about ongoing access to the site.

Comments: When you access the Training Wall, please be sure to take off your shoes while crossing or standing on the Pagoda. This applies to all Pagodas and Temples in Myanmar. The MackDown was named in honor of Pat Mackin, who was in a severe car accident early in 2014, and was a climbing teacher and colleague. Saya Otama was the abbot of the monastery across the road. He passed away in 2014, a great friend to climbers, and in particular to Tyler Hoffart.

Comments: Great work here, Andrew. For the record, my name is Steven Davis, not Steven Brian. "Steven Brian" is my Facebook name.
